BIOGRAPHY

I first got into music playing the trumpet in junior high. I played until I graduated from high school. After high school I pretty much said goodbye to my trumpet, I had no desire to continue with it. After about a year (1988) I got the music bug again, but what to play? I knew I was done with the trumpet so I started to experiment with other instruments. The place I was working had a music room with a drum set, so I would go in on my breaks and try to teach myself to play, but that answer my craving. I ended up buying a bass, keyboard, and guitar within that year, learning a little of each instrument to get an idea of what I wanted to do. The guitar was the answer, itís light and you can take it most anywhere. I would learn lots of covers in the next two years, playing in the music room at work mostly Metallica and some Van Halen. My boss Scott, who was gracious enough to let me play his drums, also learned some covers so he would be able to jam with me (cool guy!).

One day a friend said he knew a couple of guys looking for a guitar player, so I called them up and got my first band experience. This is where I got my Rush influence. We would play mostly original songs but had a few covers to throw in. We would play lots of parties, mostly at the drummers house, but it was good experience.

After the drummer left the band the bass player and I ended up starting another band where we hooked up with Jim and after several drummers John joined up. As Alter-Ego we would come up with all original music with an occasional cover. We expanded from just parties to paying gigs and a trip or two to Tahoe. Unfortunately we had a communication problem and the band broke up.

The Drummer (John) and I went about a year trying out potential bass and vocalists with no luck. Then I got a call from Jim, we talked for a while, he had hooked up with another guitar player (Russ) and thought it would be cool to get together and jam. Things went pretty well and after a few jam sessions we decided to get together and form a new band.
